Ciara McHugh, the RI District 6270 Global Grant Scholar for 2018-2019, was the featured presenter for Elmbrook Rotary's Zoom "virtual meeting" on Friday, September 25.

Ciara is in her third year of a Ph.D. research studies program at Queen's University, Belfast, Northern Ireland. Her RI Area of Focus is "Peace and Conflict Prevention/Resolution." Her specific research centers on the intersection and impact of technology (especially social media) on the tensions between police and minority communities. During this past year, Ciara has also been instrumental in the formation and leadership of a Rotaract Club at QUB in Belfast. She joyfully shared that ongoing experience with ERC.

Both Elmbrook Rotary and all of RI District 6270 can be proud of the contributions of this budding scholar to the world at large and to Rotary International. She is a prime example of what supporting The Rotary Foundation can accomplish.
