Eight Rotarians, family members and friends have recently returned from a Common Hope volunteer adventure to Antigua, Guatemala. They shared their experiences with the club at our Friday morning Sunrise Meeting of; building a home, working with grade school students, and being entertained by an orchestra of kids. The Elmbrook Rotary has donated numerous instruments in support of these young musicians. This trip, a keyboard was presented to the orchestra with plans of providing more instruments, music stands, amplifiers, and microphones in the near future.
Some of our members spent time with kids in 3 classes working on building life skills, projects and teamwork, while others focused on basic computer skills.

The Team also built a home, starting with pouring a concrete floor, constructing wall panels off-site, to panel delivery, wall assembly and roof installation… all in one week. Thank you Team!

This was our thirteenth team volunteering with the Common Hope Organization in Guatemala. We are planning for our next trip in Feb of 2027… stay tuned.

Thank you to our 2026 Common Hope Guatemala Team for making a difference in the lives of people 2960 mile away for Wisconsin.
