On February 9, 2024, 3 officers of Brookfield East's Rotary Interact Club visited the Elmbrook Rotary Club (ERC).

Interact clubs bring together young people ages 12-18 to develop leadership skills while discovering the power of "Service Above Self.” The Brookfield East club organizes at least two projects every year, one that helps their school or community and one that promotes international understanding. Rotary clubs sponsor, mentor, and guide Interactors as they carry out projects and develop leadership skills. The ERC's mentor is Rotarian Jack Hill. The club has grown from 10 members last year to 60 plus this year. Participating in the Club Fair and modifying the meeting times helped grow interest in joining the club.

Each Officer introduced themselves and explained what activities they were involved in:

· Mary, a junior and President of the Interact Club, has been with the club for two years and as an officer. She was involved in a program of making sandwiches for Guest House Milwaukee and participated in a food drive. Mary’s interest lies in becoming a history teacher.

· Nivedha has been with the club for three years. She enjoyed the blanket project that benefited the Women’s Shelter. Upon graduation, Nivedha is planning on majoring in product design.

· Sofija, a senior, has been with the club for four years and her first as an officer. She also found the blanket project fulfilling and rewarding. Sofija would like to major in marketing after graduation from Brookfield East.

Interact Club aims to connect with leaders in our community and around the world to:

· Take action to make a difference in your school and community

· Discover new cultures and promote international understanding

· Become a leader in your school and community

· Have fun and make new friends form around the world

· There are 342,953 Interactors in 14,911 clubs worldwide in 145 countries

Thank you, Mary, Nivedha, Sofija, and Interact members for your service to the community and each other.
