In local service, international service, and service to fellow club members, ERC is an active group of the most dynamic leaders in the Milwaukee Metro area. ERC is part of Rotary International, the world's largest professional service organization, with more than 1.2 million members in more than 200 countries. There are about 60 clubs in Southeastern Wisconsin, organized under Rotary District 6270. Rotary is the best organization in the world to allow ordinary people to do extraordinary things in service.
Each Rotary club around the world has a unique culture and approach to serving others: ERC is a very active club in service, looking to define itself with warm bonds of friendship between members and a constant effort in service to do as much good as possible: ERC has a focus on leveraging the high level of professional skills to intelligently invest members' time and financial investments.
We're always looking for new, dynamic members. Though membership is by invitation only, we are certainly would like to learn more about community leaders and potential leaders. See more information about joining ERC.
In service, our accomplishments are numerous:
Internationally: ERC has provided significant financial support in the historic effort--spearheaded by Rotary--to eradicate Polio from the globe. We also have taken a hands-on leadership role in Kilifi Kids, a program that works to make strides to transform a community on the coast of Kenya. Additionally, we provide financial support to many other projects, such as a microlending project in Vietnam to empower women in the economy.

Locally: ERC is tackling such major problems as education and literacy through projects such as the Sharon Lynn Wilson Center and numerous sponsorships and scholarships for students. Notably, ERC is the Rotary sponsor of Brookfield East High School Interact Club.

ERC allows members to capture their passions in service while advancing their professional careers and balancing their family lives.
Spikes for Tykes is an annual fundraiser started by Elmbrook Rotary Club in 1987, initially to benefit Polio Plus. Later, proceeds went to the Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Fund, then to fund our pledge to support the development of the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts (see related story). Now the funds support various charitable causes that benefit children. Benefactors in addition to the Wilson Center are Kilifi Kids, a program supporting the health and welfare of children in Kenya, and Polio Plus, making the final press to eliminate polio entirely through the world. Since inception, ERC has raised well over $300,000.
Spikes for Tykes, held at Mitchell Park in Brookfield, is a day of volleyball during which teams play for one hour against opponents that they request, or teams that are assigned at random. The 2009 event is scheduled for Saturday, May 30.
